Mad on This Month, Well Every Month

I have been mad on the Kim Kardashian; Hollywood game since it came out last year.  At first I resisted getting it but I caved in and now I am addicted to it!
Basically it's a RPG (Role Playing Game) and you create your character and travel around the world trying to get to the number 1 spot of fame.  Along the way you do photo shoots, TV commercials, films, runway shows all gaining fans, money and experience in order for you to level up.  When you level up you get access to new clothes and locations.  You can also date people or keep them a work contacts to help you level up.

If you are anything like me then you will love it, download it now on the app store or android.

My Hair Story

What better day to tell you my hair story than today, I'm getting my hair done!

When I was little I had very blonde hair in a bob with a block fringe like most little girls.

As I got older, I grew my hair and my fringe out but my hair also got darker to dark blonde, almost brown.

That's when I started having blonde highlights, I'm pretty sure I started dying my hair when I was about 12 but I think it was just 2 fun purple streaks then more and more highlights, only ever the top half.  I like to have my hair in a side parting with a side swept fringe.

My hair got crazy long to my waist and started to go straggly and wispy at the ends, so I had to cut it, to just a couple of inches below my shoulders.

This is when I once went to a salon where they used a lot of peroxide not so great for my hair.

I also had 4 lilac real hair extensions once, which was pretty and as you can see it's my favorite colour :).

This is when I had an accident and tried to do my own hair with some blonde dye; I just wacked it onto my parting to cover up my roots and thought it would blend.  No such luck.  This really doesn't suit me and made my face look extra chubby.  I had to get my hairdresser to sort it out my adding some low lights and I got silver shampoo that comes out purple to take away the brassiness.

I also wanted to see what I would look like if I had brown hair so I used some wash in, wash out colour which actually came out quite ginger in real life so I added a filter below to make it look browner.  It looks quite nice but I felt a bit dull compared to my blonde hair.

This past December I decided to have a change and added purple dip dye to the ends of my hair.  It only lasted a few weeks but I was so happy with the result.

Okay so this time it came out quite blue.  The purply pink colour I had last time was discontinued.

P.s please pretend I posted this last Saturday.  Yeah the one before that.

Beauty Alert: e.l.f UK

I keep looking at the e.l.f website just deciding what to order and waiting for things to come back in stock.

But last weekend I browsed online as usual and noticed there was a big sale but on the front page it states that they are closing down!  As far as I'm aware this is mainly to the UK & Europe, I'm not sure about the US or anywhere else.

Naturally I put in a big order.

In the week e.l.f emailed me to say that they are experiencing a high number of orders so my dispatch has been delayed but delivery times will be the same from dispatch.  So don't expect to get your goods 3 days later like I thought.  There isn't a lot left so hurry if you're interested!

Red Lip Liner Review

So recently a friend on Facebook has started selling make up to get extra cash.  The make up brand is called Younique and I decided to try a few things out.  It's a little bit pricey to me but I thought, why not?

I bought the Moonstruck Precision Pencil Lip Liner in the shade Primal and the Moonstruck 3D Fiber Lashes Transplanting Gel and Natural Fibers but more on that when I've actually used it.

Today I tried the lip liner with a red lip crayon, Rimmel London Colour Rush Balm in the Redder the Better is think (the writing has rubbed off).

At first I was not sure as it doesn't glide on but does give a smooth line.  When I filled in my whole lips with the pencil I loved the intense colour.  My lip crayon blended perfectly on top and completed the look.

Now it's the end of the day and my lips look as though I have just put my Lippy on but I haven't touched up at all!  I have even eaten chocolate cake, tea and drunk a fair few drinks.  It's safe to say this lip liner really has that staying power you need for your big night out or even the whole day.

You can grab one HERE in 5 different shades at £12 each and I think you can get an offer if you buy 3.

Shellac Gellish Nails Review

This is another post I wrote in 2013!

〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰

Shellac nail varnish, otherwise known as Gellish nails are long lasting chip resistant nail varnish.  It boasts lasting up to 2 weeks.  Hannah (my cousin) went for a strong blue and Ellie (me) opted for light pink with a glitter finish.  We had them done at different nail salons; both costing £15.00.

First the manicurist files your nails and makes you wash your hands to get rid of dust.  Then they put a clear coat of gel on your nails, a couple of colour coats or glitter and then a final clear coat.  Between each coat is you put your hand in a UV lamp whilst the manicurist paints your other hand.  Next they rub cuticle oil into your fingers and give you moisturiser.

After just one week my shellac was coming up at the cuticles on 3 nails although they avoid flooding your cuticles. I'm trying to resist the urge to peak each nail off. So far I've just pulled a few little slithers off.

I would try them again, especially to see how easily they come off.  Perhaps at a different salon or without a glitter coat.  They are great if you don't want to be re painting your nails all the time.

I had them again in French manicure for a wedding last march and was happy with the outcome, great for special occasions and holidays.

Toe Nail Varnish

This is something I wrote over a year ago when I first started thinking about writing a blog;
My toenails are always painted.  I don't bother much with my finger nails as I haven't got the drying time, I'm always doing something with my hands.  Besides, I always pick it off before long.

The main reason my toenails are always painted is because I have "bad toes".  These are my big toes that I keep stubbing and dropping things on, so they bruised and discoloured.

I love to paint my tootsies bright holiday colours like pinks and oranges or to match my chosen outfit for a night out.  This way I always know I can wear peep toe shoes.

Toenail varnish seems to last so long as well, probably because we keep them wrapped up in socks all day.

This is still somewhat true but I had an operation on my toenails so I'm wearing nail varnish at the moment.

10 products I can't Live Without

These are the kind of products I would take to a desert island and they are the ones I recommend for anyone for day to day life.

1. Mascara - especially any Maybelline one is great since I discovered Great Lash in Florida a few years ago.  The one I'm using right now is the colossal volum' express, about £8 but often on 3 for 2.

2. Liquid Eyeliner - my go to since I've been about 14, is the natural collection one for just £1.99

3. Bronzer - literally any bronzer that suits your complexion.  At the moment I'm trying out a sample size of Hoola bronzer by Benefit.

4. Highlighter - the glitterer the better!  I used to use some No7 years ago but I have now found the boujois chocolate bronzer with a highlighter, £8.99.

5. Make up wipes - easy to use Johnsons or Simple couple of pounds from Savers.

6. Body Scrub - essential to my shower routine - I use mainly body shop ones, I love the smell of the chocolate one £2-5 depending on size.

7. Make Up Brushes - I started out with a few No7 eyeshadow brushes with the old £5 off vouchers in boots and have now grown my collection to include Real Techniques shes.  I got mine from allbeauty.com for £13.50 a set.

8. Lip Balm - I use Nivea Caregloss or the Body Shop's Born Lippy, £2

9. Eyelash Curlers - from anywhere really!

10. Dry Shampoo - I use Batiste which rangers from about £1-£3 depending on size.
